Ok - remember when you downloaded Kazza and all that other crap - well it also installed a bunch of garbage that fills your screen with ads!!! lets get rid of it! Download AdAware SE that is a download mirror - if you want to read more about adaware go to their site.

Now - adaware for some weird reason flags cookies as possible spyware - really cookies are not that dangerous - they mostly help you remember usernames or save preferences for sites you visit, run adaware look at the report and delete anything that is not a cookie - it will give you details - you can also delete any cookies you no longer want on your machine.

Micorsoft Beta Spyware remover (Windows Defender)
Microsoft released some free software, orginially called Spyware remover beta - now named "Windows Defender".

Also - for windows XP users: Make sure you keep your automatic updates on from microsoft - they release patches to protect your system all the time.
