A Trojan horse virus is one in which sneaks its way into your computer by disguising itself as an exe, vbs, com, or bat file, most likely downloaded from the internet or shareware programs such as Lime Wire, Kazza, Bittorrent or other P2P file sharing services. These applications themselves are not Trojans, but malicious hackers will upload programs to "share" and hide little bits of code inside the seemingly harmless application. Hence the name "Trojan Horse"

Make sure when downloading files that you are positive it is from a trusted source. Once they’ve snuck their way into your computer they can infect your hard drive, they can possibly wipe out your disk, and what’s worse is they can make their way from your computer to others and infect the World Wide Web.

The best way to avoid this from happening would be to not download anything, but that’s next to impossible, because who doesn’t like shareware programs, besides Metallica, but what you can do is get a good anti virus program. The best anti-virus program on the web is AVG anti-virus, and what’s better is its completely free. The program will protect your computer from Trojans and virus’s, and if you were to get any you can store them in a vault and erase the from your computer completely. Go to the link provided below, scroll down and click the “Get AVG Free” link for whatever operating system your computer runs then download the program and then upgrade to the latest version.
